Brackettville Artist Bud Breen -- a final ride.

The Wrangler's Last Ride
by Bud Breen

"The Wranglers Last Ride" is a 24 x 36 original oil painting by Bud Breen. It depicts the last honorary ride for a wrangler in the Old West--his saddled horse can be seen in the rear of the procession. I can't swear to it, but I believe Bud may have used an antique funeral coach on the Alamo Village movie set in Brackettville, Texas as the model for the coach in this painting. Next time I go out there, I'll have to look for it and take a photo!

Bud Breen Original Oil Painting -- A Precious Find

A Precious Find
Locating Water
by Bud Breen

Bud gave this 24 x 36 unframed oil painting two different titles. "A Precious Find" and "Locating Water." The caravan's scout is alerts his fellow travelers to a precious find by firing his gun into the air.

Bud Breen Original Oil Painting -- Tracks Make Towns

Tracks Make Towns

This is one of Bud's more vibrant pieces. The colors are more saturated and rich. The red on the train (#97) is RED. The green brush is deep green. There are light violet-blues in the sky that I just couldn't quite capture with my camera. The photo makes the painting look more yellow all over than it is because I shot it outside as the sun was setting. The sky in this painting doesn't have that yellow tinge, it looks like a true sunset--pink, copper, gold, and pale violet/blue.

The photo below shows the sky just a bit better.
